This dagger raises the natural ceiling of your Soul Harvest: instead of the usual stack count, you can now pile the buff up to ten times. Since Soul Harvest boosts your primary attribute per stack, the Sacred Harvester becomes a huge multiplier for your Intelligence, and therefore for both your overall damage and your survivability as a Witch Doctor.

The weapon belongs in any Witch Doctor build that already runs Soul Harvest, and it fits ramp-up playstyles especially well, where you stack fully before a big hit. My tip: keep the stacks alive by re-casting Soul Harvest consistently before every boss window and every dense pack, so you always have the full ten-stack bonus exactly when it matters.
