This flamboyant headdress was fashioned long ago by a fashion-conscious Harakas mage to make an impression at a peace summit between her clan and the Sarandesh. The highly conductive properties that make it so valuable in combat were merely a happy accident. Regardless, when the meeting of the clans turned violent, it was those attributes that made the more lasting impact.

Chaining Twice as Far

This wizard hat doubles the number of targets 'Electrocute' jumps to. For the Wizard, this turns an already chain-happy skill into a tool that electrifies entire enemy groups at once – ideal for efficiently clearing large numbers of weaker foes.

Because Electrocute jumps from target to target, you benefit most when many enemies are standing close together: more jumps mean more targets hit per cast. The Velvet Camaral is therefore the foundation of Electrocute-focused builds. The socket and attribute values round out the package. Tip: Rely on enemy density and position yourself so the chain reaches as many foes as possible before it runs out – in open terrain you're wasting jumps.

What doubling means in practice

Unruned, Electrocute jumps to up to 2 enemies and deals 69% weapon damage as Lightning; with the hat that becomes 4 jumps. The Chain Lightning rune raises the maximum number of enemies hit to 10, and the hat doubles that figure too. Surge of Power grants 1 Arcane Power per enemy hit, so every extra jump tops up your resource. The power has no roll range and only works for the Wizard.

A Signature Spell with a side effect

Electrocute is a Signature Spell and costs nothing. Triumvirate empowers Arcane Orb every time you cast a Signature Spell, so Electrocute can build those stacks along the way. A socket is built in, and the hat rolls 626–750 Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence, where a Wizard wants Intelligence.

A happy accident

According to the flavor text, a fashion-conscious Harakas mage designed this flamboyant headdress to make an impression at a peace summit with the Sarandesh. Its highly conductive properties were merely a happy accident. When the meeting turned violent, it was exactly those properties that left the more lasting impact.
