The Swami

This wizard hat extends the best window of an Archon build: the accumulated buffs from your Archon stacks remain for several seconds after the transformation itself ends. So you do not lose the laboriously stacked damage bonus the instant Archon expires.

For the Wizard this is a huge boost, because you can use the leftover stack window to keep firing normal skills with elevated damage before triggering the next Archon. The hat is mandatory in any stack-based Archon build. My tip: plan your transitions so that during the afterglow phase you unleash your strongest non-Archon spells and seamlessly bridge the extended damage window.

Where the stacks come from

Archon transforms you for 20 seconds, raising your damage by 30% and your Armor and resistances by 150%. Every enemy killed in Archon form adds another 6% damage for the remaining duration - those are the stacks the Swami carries past the end. The afterglow rolls between 15 and 20 seconds, so a Primal Ancient keeps the stacks as long as the transformation itself lasts. The more enemies you kill in Archon form, the more the afterglow is worth.

Which Archon rune fits

  • Pure Power lowers the cooldown from 120 to 100 seconds and turns the damage into Lightning - your next Archon arrives sooner.
  • Improved Archon raises the damage of all Archon abilities by 50%.
  • Combustion triggers an explosion for 3680% weapon damage as Fire when you transform.
  • Slow Time and Teleport add control and mobility in Archon form, respectively.

Stats and cube slot

Every copy carries 3–4 Arcane Power on Critical Hits and +13–14 Maximum Arcane Power, plus a main stat at 626 to 750 points - Intelligence for a Wizard. The power fits the armor slot of Kanai's Cube. That is handy because the hat is often paired with Guardian's Gaze, which occupies the same head slot. Other partners are Vyr's Proud Pauldrons, Vyr's Astonishing Aura and Vyr's Grasping Gauntlets, Squirt's Necklace and Fazula's Improbable Chain.
