This wizard hat extends the best window of an Archon build: the accumulated buffs from your Archon stacks remain for several seconds after the transformation itself ends. So you do not lose the laboriously stacked damage bonus the instant Archon expires.

For the Wizard this is a huge boost, because you can use the leftover stack window to keep firing normal skills with elevated damage before triggering the next Archon. The hat is mandatory in any stack-based Archon build. My tip: plan your transitions so that during the afterglow phase you unleash your strongest non-Archon spells and seamlessly bridge the extended damage window.
