The Sultan of Blinding Sand
This two-handed sword gives each of your hits a chance to blind the struck enemy. Blinded foes cannot attack, so alongside its Holy damage the weapon brings a valuable defensive crowd-control effect that keeps you alive in melee.
Because the effect simply triggers on striking, the sword suits attack-heavy melee fighters who hit often and quickly anyway. The higher your hit frequency, the more often you blind and the more continuously you keep enemy groups incapacitated. My tip: stack attack speed to trigger the blind chance as often as possible, and use the breathing room while enemies are blind for your own heavy attacks.
A Wide Range for the Blind Chance
The blind chance is not a legendary power but a fixed property, and its range is wide: 20–40% per hit. A copy at the top end therefore blinds twice as often as one at the bottom, and a Primal Ancient sword always has 40.0%. Because the chance applies per hit, skills that hit many enemies at once also blind many at once.
No Cube Slot, Clear Stats
Since the sword carries no legendary power, there is nothing to extract into Kanai's Cube; the blind only works while you wield it. Holy damage of (1,177–1,439)–(1,410–1,788) is fixed as well, and Strength, Intelligence or Dexterity at 946–1,125 rolls at random. The sword deals 1137-1702 damage at 1.15 attacks per second and, as a two-handed weapon, occupies both hands. If the blind chance is low, reforging in Kanai's Cube rerolls the whole item. The Sultan can go to a follower as well.
A Blade for the First Emperor
The flavor text places the sword in context: the finest smiths in Caldeum forged it to commemorate the first emperor Hakan's ascension to the throne.
