“Always seeking to improve the Crusaders’ efficiency, Akkhan’s Master Blacksmith Gabriel crafted these bracers to ease the strain of summoning the Blessed Hammer.” -Rennold's Catalogue of Arms

Gabriel's Vambraces

These bracers solve the resource problem of Blessed Hammer. When the skill hits only a few enemies, a large portion of its Wrath cost is refunded. That lets you keep spinning your hammers generously even when just one or two foes are in range – ideal against elites and bosses where Wrath otherwise runs short quickly.

The bracers' power only works for the Crusader, and they are a core piece of any Blessed Hammer build. The extra critical hit chance further raises your damage. Practical tip: in single-target situations you fully exploit the bracers' strength – here the Wrath refund keeps your resource stable, so you can apply uninterrupted pressure to tough enemies instead of waiting for Wrath to refill.

What the refund means in practice

Blessed Hammer costs 10 Wrath. The power refunds 75–100% of that whenever a hammer hits 3 or fewer enemies. A copy at 85% sits in the lower half; with a Primal Ancient at 100%, such a hammer effectively costs you no Wrath at all. Against large packs, however, the refund does not apply, so you have to manage your Wrath as usual there.

Runes with the hit count in mind

Because the refund is tied to few hits, the runes play out differently. Limitless doubles the damage to 640% as Holy but also enlarges the area of effect by 20 yards, making it easier to hit more than 3 enemies. Dominion keeps the hammer orbiting you while you move. Brute Force slows and has a 35% chance to explode and stun, Burning Wrath has a 25% chance to scorch the ground, and Thunderstruck creates lightning arcs between you and the hammer.

Stats and partners

Every copy carries 4.5–6% Critical Hit Chance; for the main stat, take Strength at 416 to 500 points. Physical damage, Thorns and All Resistance also fit. The vambraces are often played alongside Aquila Cuirass, Belt of the Trove, Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan, Greaves of Valor, Stone Gauntlets and Burden of the Invoker.

According to Rennold's Catalogue of Arms, Akkhan's Master Blacksmith Gabriel crafted the bracers to ease the strain of summoning the Blessed Hammer.
