"In ancient times, there lived a strange race of people—the Custerians. No one knows who they were, or what they were doing, but their legacy remains beaten into the very metal of these wristguards." —Yuan, wise man of Tufnyl

Gather Gold, Gain Experience

Custerian Wristguards combine two things that are usually separate: picking up gold also grants you experience, and you receive more gold from enemies. For characters leveling quickly or deliberately stockpiling gems and Paragon points, that is a clever double benefit, turning the gold you scoop up anyway into progress.

The bracers are class-neutral and most valuable during the build-up and leveling phase or when farming experience on purpose. Pair them with effects that widen your gold pickup radius so you gather gold - and thus experience - as seamlessly as possible. In pure endgame damage builds, however, they often give way to more offensive bracers once the leveling phase is done.

Power and gold bonus work together

The power triggers on every gold pickup. The built-in +32–35% Extra Gold from Monsters means more gold ends up on the ground - so both halves of the item pull in the same direction. The power text doesn't say how much experience a single pickup grants, but the benefit grows with every pile of gold you collect. The (Emanates) tag means the power also works on you when your follower wears the wristguards - which keeps your own bracer slot free for more offensive pieces.

No random property

Both properties are predetermined: alongside the gold bonus there is Critical Hit Chance Increased by 4.5–6%. A primary attribute or Vitality is missing - which explains why these bracers rarely stay in pure damage setups. The Mystic can re-enchant one of the two properties; since the gold bonus fits the power thematically, Critical Hit Chance is the more likely candidate if you are going all in on experience.

The riddle of the Custerians

The flavor text comes from Yuan, wise man of Tufnyl: in ancient times there lived a strange race called the Custerians. No one knows who they were or what they were doing, yet their legacy remains beaten into the metal of these wristguards.
