Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot

This ring was crudely crafted by a barbarian wise woman from the fulgurite left behind after a lightning strike. It still possessed a strong connection to the force that birthed it, and the wise woman used its power to strengthen her own magics in order to defend her tribe from Westmarch invaders.

Wyrdward

This ring gives your lightning damage a chance to briefly stun the enemies it hits. That turns every lightning-based hit into an incidental crowd-control tool, interrupting dangerous foes and granting you valuable breathing room without having to equip a dedicated stun skill.

The effect is class-independent but only shows its value in builds that actually deal lightning damage, such as lightning builds for the Wizard, Monk or Demon Hunter. Practical tip: the higher your attack speed and the more individual lightning hits you land, the more often the stun triggers, so channeled or fast-ticking lightning skills benefit especially. Use the ring deliberately where you depend on constant control against elite enemies or in tight spaces.

Chance and duration

The stun lasts 1.5 seconds, and its trigger chance rolls between 25–35%. A ring at the top end stuns noticeably more often - with many fast lightning hits, that adds up. Primal copies of Wyrdward lock in the 35%. The power speaks of Lightning damage in general rather than a specific skill: any source that deals Lightning damage can trigger the stun.

A ring with a single attribute

Apart from the power, the only roll is a primary attribute at 416–500. The ring lists no other properties, and the Mystic can only re-enchant that attribute if it doesn't suit your class. You wear this ring for the control, not for its stats.

Your follower can put on Wyrdward too. Since the power text contains no (Emanates) tag, you yourself don't gain the stun in that case.

Born from a lightning strike

According to the flavor text, a barbarian wise woman crudely crafted this ring from the fulgurite left behind by a lightning strike. It kept its bond to that raw force, and she used its power to defend her tribe against invaders from Westmarch.
