The Mind's Eye
This spirit stone lifts the defensive skill Inner Sanctuary to a new level: while it is active, your Spirit regeneration per second rises noticeably. For the Monk this means a skill you already like to drop for its damage reduction also becomes a resource engine at the same time.
That fits especially well in builds that suffer from chronic Spirit shortage and can barely afford expensive spender spells otherwise. With The Mind's Eye you can play more aggressively without constantly running on empty. My tip: keep Inner Sanctuary up as continuously as possible, because the regeneration bonus only applies while the ward stands and its real value adds up over many seconds.
Duration Versus Cooldown
Inner Sanctuary lasts 6 seconds on a 20-second cooldown; while the rune ward stands, all allies inside take 55% less damage. Without Cooldown Reduction, the bonus is therefore active only a small part of the time - which is exactly why the tip stresses keeping the skill up. The Sanctified Ground rune extends the duration to 8 seconds, giving you two more seconds of regeneration per cast, and also stops enemies from passing through the ward.
Other Runes Compared
- Safe Haven: allies in the ward regenerate 35,779 Life per second.
- Temple of Protection: immunity to control-impairing effects inside the ward.
- Forbidden Palace: enemies inside the ward are slowed by 80%.
- Intervene: you dash to the target and wrap allies in an absorb shield for 3 seconds.
Stats and Roll
The bonus rolls 10–15 Spirit per second; a Primal Ancient spirit stone brings the full 15. One socket is fixed, and the stone rolls +626–750 Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence - as a Monk you take Dexterity. The flavor text stays mysterious: only one who opens the tenth gate can cleanse her soul.
