The Ess of Johan has a chance, on your hits, to pull enemies toward your target and slow them considerably. That is an excellent crowd-control tool, because it bundles scattered foes at a point where your area damage is strongest and holds them there.

Thanks to all three primary attributes and the cooldown reduction, the amulet is interesting across classes and especially valuable for area-damage builds that thrive on dense enemy groups. My tip: combine it with a strong area skill and place your damage exactly where the enemies are pulled, to make optimal use of the brief phase of bundling and slowing. This way you turn chaotic mobs into an easily cleared knot, while the shortened cooldowns additionally speed up your rhythm.
