"This unique amulet was originally found on a dead necromancer before being brought to Khalim, the Que-Hegan. It was he who named it, after his archbishops and their philosophers finally divined its powers. I often wonder why Khalim did not use it himself when he was mortally wounded, before being dismembered by his corrupted High Council." —Abd al-Hazir
Ancestors' Grace
Ancestors' Grace is a lifesaver in the literal sense: if you would take fatal damage, you are fully healed and refunded all resources instead, but the amulet is destroyed in the process. It is a one-time insurance that prevents instant death in dangerous moments and hands you fresh resources to strike back.
Because the effect consumes itself, the amulet suits risky push attempts against tough bosses or serves as a safety net while exploring high difficulties. Since this is one of the few powers that cannot be extracted into Kanai's Cube, you must wear it. Plan deliberately around being vulnerable again once it triggers.
What's missing after it triggers
The power saves you once and restores you to 100% of your maximum Life. After that, the item is destroyed - and every stat it carried goes with it. The amulet has a fixed +626–750 Vitality; once it is gone, your maximum Life drops noticeably for the rest of the attempt. The main stat at 626 to 750 points and anything else that rolled on it disappear as well. So expect a weaker hero after the save, not just a spent insurance policy.
When the amulet is worth it
Since the power has no roll range, there is no "better" version of the save itself - a high roll only matters for Vitality and the main stat. Precisely because the amulet is lost, it works better as a tool for individual, targeted attempts than as a permanent companion: keep spare copies if you plan to use it regularly. And because it cannot go into the cube, it occupies your neck slot, where an offensive amulet could otherwise sit.
The riddle of Khalim
The flavor text by Abd al-Hazir tells that the amulet was found on a dead necromancer and then brought to Khalim, the Que-Hegan. Khalim named it after his archbishops and philosophers had finally divined its powers. Abd al-Hazir still wonders why Khalim did not use it himself when he was mortally wounded, before his corrupted High Council dismembered him.
