"Those unaware of the true nature of the world are unable to keep their spirits from being used against them." —Dovu, the Tribe of the Clouded Valley
Dovu Energy Trap
This amulet extends your stun effects: enemies stay dazed noticeably longer, buying you more time to cut them down safely. Handily, the effect radiates – the power also works when your follower wears the amulet.
The amulet shines wherever you can reliably stun, whether through skills, gems or companions. The added cooldown reduction and its randomly rolled primary stat make it usable across classes. Practical tip: pair it with a source of consistent stunning so dangerous enemies stay locked down as long as possible – especially against elite packs or in group play, you turn every stun into a longer window for uninterrupted damage.
The best spot: your follower's neck
Because the power emanates, you don't have to give up your own amulet slot for it. Put the amulet on your follower, and your stuns still last longer. The amulet's other stats - Cooldown Reduction and the main stat - then belong to the follower, not to you. If you wear it yourself, you get both: the power and the stats.
What the numbers give you
The extension rolls between 20 and 25%; the 22% from the example is solidly average, and Primal Ancients come in at 25%. How much that matters depends directly on your stuns: every stun grows by a fifth to a quarter - noticeable seconds on long stuns, mere fractions on very short ones. Also fixed are 5–8% Cooldown Reduction and a main stat at 626 to 750 points.
When the amulet is worth it
The amulet adds no damage; it extends control. It makes the most sense when your skills or runes already stun regularly - without a stun source of your own, the power does nothing.
The flavor text comes from Dovu of the Tribe of the Clouded Valley: those unaware of the true nature of the world cannot keep their own spirits from being used against them.
