The Staff of Kyro is a Monk daibo that empowers a single skill: it raises the damage of Deadly Reach by a solid percentage. That skill benefits especially from such direct multipliers, because higher base damage carries through its entire attack sequence and so makes itself noticeably felt.

For a Monk who uses Deadly Reach as the core of his damage, this daibo is therefore an obvious pick, particularly in the buildup phase or in casual speed builds. Tip: when arranging your skills, make sure to actually run Deadly Reach as your main attack, since only then does the weapon's bonus pay off. If you favor a different focus, the staff is at most interesting as a source of its skill bonus via Kanai's Cube.
