The flying dragon soars silently but strikes with great force.
Flying Dragon
This daibo carries one of the most spectacular effects among two-handed weapons: occasionally, your attack speed suddenly doubles when you attack. In those moments your strikes hammer enemies at a furious pace, which translates into a huge, if unpredictable, damage surge for many builds.
The daibo is restricted to the Monk and naturally suits skills that benefit from a high attack frequency - such as fast Monk combos. Practical tip: since the effect triggers at random, it pays to pair it with skills whose damage scales directly with attack speed. That way you extract the greatest damage gain during the doubled-speed windows and turn the lucky moment into a genuine peak.
A power without a roll range
The chance for doubled speed is not quantified in the power text and does not roll. With Flying Dragon, only the properties decide how good a drop is. +946–1,125 Dexterity is fixed, and a random elemental damage roll of +(1,177–1,439)–(1,410–1,788) is added - pick the element your Monk is built around, since Holy, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, Arcane and Physical are all possible. A primal ancient copy carries the maximum everywhere.
Wield it or cube it
In hand, the daibo is a heavy two-hander with 994-1845 base damage and 1.15 attacks per second. If you would rather wield something else, extract the power and activate it in the weapon slot of Kanai's Cube - you keep the speed effect without committing to a two-handed weapon.
Flying Dragon is frequently combined with Convention of Elements, The Crudest Boots, Unity, Bindings of the Lesser Gods, The Traveler's Pledge and Spirit Guards.
The dragon in the flavor text
The flavor text describes a dragon that soars silently yet strikes with great force. The image matches the power: quiet stretches, then a sudden flurry of fast blows.
