Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot

Once worn by the self-appointed guardians of Sanctuary, who were said to feel no fear.

Justice Lantern

This ring rewards defensive builds in several ways: it shortens the duration of crowd-control effects and converts part of your block chance directly into extra damage reduction. Anyone already stacking high block values gains a noticeable layer of survivability on top.

Because the ring keys off block chance and carries no class restriction, it suits any class running a shield and block-heavy defense, from the Crusader to the Barbarian to a tanky bodyguard setup. Practical tip: the effect scales with your block chance, so it only truly pays off alongside a shield and block-boosting items; the higher your block value, the more damage reduction you squeeze out of this single ring slot.

Three Fixed Stats That Work Together

The lantern brings its own foundation: 12–16% Chance to Block, a socket and a 35–50% shorter duration of control impairing effects are all fixed. The ring's block chance therefore directly raises the value from which the power calculates its damage reduction. The power itself rolls in the 45–55% range of your Block Chance, so a Primal Ancient ring combines 55%, 16% block chance and 50% shorter crowd control.

What to Check on a Copy

Only the main stat is random: Dexterity, Intelligence or Strength at 416–500. Other sought-after rolls are critical hit damage, critical hit chance and cooldown reduction. If the block chance rolls low, it is a good candidate for the Mystic, since it improves both blocking and damage reduction at once. A follower can equip the ring as well.

Pairings and Origin

Leoric's Crown, Pauldrons of the Skeleton King, Squirt's Necklace, Aquila Cuirass, The Witching Hour and Stone Gauntlets often appear alongside it. According to the flavor text, the self-appointed guardians of Sanctuary once wore this lantern, warriors said to feel no fear. That fits the shorter duration of control impairing effects, which gets you acting again sooner.
