This shield rewards active blocking: every blocked attack hurls a Fires of Heaven in the direction you are facing, turning your defense into an extra source of damage. For the Crusader this creates an elegant dual role where playing defensively automatically generates offense.

That makes the shield a fit for tanky Crusader builds that stack block chance and like to stand right in the thick of things, where plenty of attacks rain down on them. The more enemies that strike, the more often the shield fires. Practical tip: stack block chance through gear and passives, since only triggered blocks set off the heavenly fire, and deliberately orient yourself toward the densest pack while fighting to place the hit where it matters most.
