Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot
When their caravans are threatened, the Vecin will supplement their meager weapons and armor with whatever materials they have on hand. This unremarkable wooden shield has been adorned with countless charms and enchantments meant to protect its wielder, from the magical silk that has been wrapped around its surface to the glowing pendants and jingling mystical trinkets that dangle from the shield's rim.
Eberli Charo
This shield sharply lowers the cooldown of Heaven's Fury, letting you rain down its devastating beams over your enemies far more often. A powerful but rarely available ability becomes a reliable cornerstone of your damage rotation.
For the Crusader this is the foundation of a Heaven's Fury build where the skill is almost always ready to fire. Since the shield also rolls one of the three primary stats and provides protection, you combine offense and defense in a single slot. Practical tip: stack the shortened cooldown with further sources of cooldown reduction so Heaven's Fury stays available with as few gaps as possible – keeping a field of beams on the enemies almost constantly rather than flashing only now and then.
What the reduction actually delivers
According to the tooltip, Heaven's Fury has a 20 second cooldown. The shield cuts it by 45 to 50% - so a Primal Ancient halves it exactly, and a roll of 46% sits just above the minimum. Since low and high rolls differ by only a few percentage points, the other stats often matter more than the power roll. The ray itself deals 1710% weapon damage as Holy over 6 seconds.
One rune rules the shield out
Fires of Heaven removes the Heaven's Fury cooldown entirely and costs 40 Wrath instead. With that rune, Eberli Charo has nothing left to shorten - the shield only makes sense with runes that keep the cooldown:
- Ascendancy, with the ray grown to 12 yards and 2766% weapon damage,
- Split Fury, with 3 rays of 1980% each,
- Blessed Ground, which blesses the ground it touches for 5 seconds,
- Thou Shalt Not Pass, which bars enemies from the pulsing ground for 6 seconds.
Stats and origin
On the shield itself, only the main stat is preset: Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence at 626 to 750 points - Strength for a Heaven's Fury Crusader. The shield is not class-restricted, but its power only works for the Crusader. The flavor text tells of the Vecin, who bolster their meager gear whenever their caravans are threatened. This unremarkable wooden shield was adorned with countless charms: magical silk, glowing pendants and jingling mystical trinkets along its rim.
