A Double Rain of Gems

The Broken Crown is a quiet hero of progression: whenever a gem drops, the helm also drops an extra gem of exactly the type socketed into it. Socket an emerald, for example, and over time noticeably more emeralds rain down - a steady, passive supply of precisely the stones you need.

Because the effect works regardless of class and even emanates (so it also works when your follower wears the crown), the crown is ideal when you systematically gather high-quality gems for your gear or for upgrading. It does not affect legendary gems, though. My tip: socket the gem type you need most and wear the crown specifically during longer farming sessions - across many fights the bonus rain adds up to a tidy cushion.

The Socket Decides the Yield

The crown has exactly one fixed socket, and it does double duty here: the gem inside provides its usual effect for the helm and at the same time sets which type drops extra with every gem you find. The power does not copy the gem that dropped; it always adds the type from the socket. Find a ruby while an emerald sits in the helm, and you get both a ruby and an emerald.

How much the crown yields depends entirely on how often gems drop in the first place. The power has no range - every Broken Crown delivers the same amount.

Stats on the Helm

Besides the socket, only the main stat is set: +626–750 Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence. If the helm carries the wrong attribute for your class, the Mystic can re-enchant that property. A Primal Ancient copy reaches 750.
