The Broken Crown is a quiet hero of progression: whenever a gem drops, the helm also drops an extra gem of exactly the type socketed into it. Socket an emerald, for example, and over time noticeably more emeralds rain down - a steady, passive supply of precisely the stones you need.

Because the effect works regardless of class and even radiates to allies, the crown is ideal when you systematically gather high-quality gems for your gear or for upgrading. It does not affect legendary gems, though. My tip: socket the gem type you need most and wear the crown specifically during longer farming sessions - across many fights the bonus rain adds up to a tidy cushion.
