"This satchel is cleverly designed so that the heads of arrows placed within fit into slots that serve as whetstones, sharpening the edges whenever an arrow is inserted or removed. Cirri's artistry remained unrecognized in his lifetime, so that only this quiver, numbered nine on the interior, survived to the present." -The Craft of War by Diadra the Scholar

The Ninth Cirri Satchel

This quiver turns Hungering Arrow into a piercing main skill for the Demon Hunter: its damage climbs sharply and the arrow now reliably punches through several targets in a row. That finally gives an otherwise single-target shot dependable multi-hit value against lined-up enemies.

The guaranteed pierce solves the skill's biggest weakness, its random pierce mechanic, and makes it predictable. The quiver is ideal in Hungering Arrow builds built around Hatred generation and high single-target to line damage. My tip: position yourself so as many foes as possible stand in a line in front of you; then you exploit the guaranteed pierces fully and squeeze the maximum number of hit targets out of every shot.

How the Runes Shift

Without the quiver, Hungering Arrow only has a 35% chance to pierce. Because the quiver guarantees the pierce, up to 4 times, the runes shift:

  • Puncturing Arrow only raises the chance to 50%, which makes it redundant.
  • Devouring Arrow adds 70% damage with each consecutive pierce and turns the damage into Cold.
  • Shatter Shot splits the arrow into 3 once it pierces the first enemy and turns the damage into Lightning.
  • Serrated Arrow raises Hatred generated from 4 to 7.
  • Spray of Teeth makes Critical Hits burst out within 10 yards.

Rolls and Cube Slot

The damage bonus rolls in the 450–600% range, and a Primal Ancient quiver brings the full 600%. Dexterity at 626–750 and 15–20% attack speed are fixed, and critical hit chance, resource cost reduction and a Hungering Arrow damage bonus fit well alongside. The power can be activated in the weapon slot of Kanai's Cube, leaving your off-hand free for another quiver. It is often combined with Dystopian Goggles, Galvanized Vest, Gas Powered Automail Forearm, Antique Vintage Boots, Hunter's Wrath and Squirt's Necklace.

Cirri's Forgotten Craft

According to Diadra the Scholar, the satchel is built so that arrowheads fit into slots that act as whetstones, sharpening them every time an arrow goes in or comes out. Cirri's artistry went unrecognized in his lifetime, and only this quiver, numbered nine on the inside, survived.
