"Emimei was rumored to be the offspring of the famed fletcher Cirri. Possibly even more talented than her father, she discovered a way to integrate a superior ignition system into demon hunter bola weapons. Exert enough pressure on a bola's spike and the explosive charge within triggers, causing the bola to detonate upon impact with a target." -The Craft of War by Diadra the Scholar
Emimei's Duffel
This quiver reworks your Bolas: they now explode without the usual delay and deal considerably more damage on top. Instead of waiting for the fuse, they detonate the instant they touch an enemy – a sluggish thrown weapon becomes a direct burst of damage.
For the Demon Hunter this is what makes a Bola build practical, since the otherwise awkward delay disappears entirely. Combined with Dexterity and attack speed, you fire dense, instantly exploding volleys. Practical tip: throw the Bolas straight into packed groups so the immediate explosion catches as many foes at once as possible – with no delay you can push your attack speed to the limit and chain throw after throw without waiting on earlier detonations.
Roll range and fixed stats
The instant explosion is the same on every copy. Only the damage bonus rolls, between 150 and 175%; a copy at 169% is already close to the cap, and a Primal Ancient delivers the full 175%. Because the range is narrow, two quivers barely differ in their power - what matters more is how the other stats turn out. Every copy carries +626–750 Dexterity and 15–20% Attack Speed, exactly the stats a Demon Hunter wants on a quiver.
What the missing delay changes
Without a fuse, the damage lands the moment the bola hits. You see right away whether a throw connected and don't have to wait for an explosion before turning to the next target. That makes Bolas more predictable, especially when enemies move quickly or a pack is already breaking apart. The Attack Speed on the quiver also keeps your throws coming in close succession.
The invention behind the quiver
The flavor text from The Craft of War by Diadra the Scholar explains the power: Emimei was rumored to be the daughter of the famed fletcher Cirri and possibly even more talented than him. She built a superior ignition system into demon hunter bolas - apply enough pressure to a bola's spike and the charge inside detonates on impact with the target.
