This garish amulet, once worn by an over large imp, makes time an insignificant thing.

Pylons that glow longer

The Flavor of Time doubles the duration of pylon effects, and this benefit even applies when your follower wears the amulet. Especially in Greater Rifts, where pylons like Shield, Speed or Power decide victory and defeat, the amulet considerably extends these powerful phases and multiplies their use.

Since it offers general cooldown reduction and movement speed rather than class-specific effects, the amulet is universally usable and especially valuable in fast push and speed runs. My tip: deliberately plan your biggest damage windows around active pylons, because with the doubled duration you have noticeably more time to exploit them. Because the power emanates, you can also equip the amulet on your follower and keep your own amulet slot free for other stats.

Wear it or hand it to your follower

The power has no roll range - every copy doubles the duration. The decision therefore comes down to the fixed stats: 5–8% Cooldown Reduction and +10–12% Movement Speed. If you wear the amulet yourself, you get both the power and the stats. If you give it to your follower, the doubled pylon duration keeps working thanks to "Emanates", but the stats then belong to the follower. Since your follower has only one neck slot, The Flavor of Time competes there with other emanating amulets such as Dovu Energy Trap.

When the doubled duration pays off

Its value rises with the pylons you find. A Power or Shield pylon that lasts twice as long covers a much larger share of a Rift Guardian fight, and a Speed pylon keeps you moving fast across the map for twice as long. If you rarely find pylons, only the value of the fixed stats remains.

An amulet against time

The flavor text describes a garish amulet once worn by an over-large imp that makes time an insignificant thing - fitting for a power that slows down the pylons' clock.
