Bearers of this flail ride like the wind when they call upon their celestial steeds. This fact may cause extreme envy when used around horseless nephalem.

Double the time in the saddle

Swiftmount doubles the duration of Steed Charge, transforming the Crusader's mounted dash from a brief burst of mobility into a long-lasting tool. You cover greater distances in one go, run over more enemies in a single charge, and can weave the skill more persistently into your routine.

The effect works only for the Crusader and fits beautifully into mobile, charge-heavy setups or pure speed builds that reward quick traversal of maps and rifts. My tip: use Steed Charge to shuttle between enemy clusters while continuously dealing damage, rather than purely as an escape. The extended duration keeps you moving longer and thereby often outside dangerous ground effects, which makes this flail especially valuable for fast farming.

What doubling means in seconds

According to the tooltip, Steed Charge lets you ride through enemies unhindered for 2 seconds on a 16 second cooldown. With Swiftmount, that becomes 4 seconds. The Endurance rune raises the base duration to 3 seconds, and the flail extends the ride accordingly. The power has no roll range - every copy doubles the same way.

Runes that work per second

The longer the ride, the more runes with per-second effects matter:

  • Nightmare leaves a trail of flame dealing 550% weapon damage as Fire per second to enemies it touches.
  • Draw and Quarter chains 5 nearby enemies and drags them behind you for 185% weapon damage as Holy per second.
  • Spiked Barding deals 500% of your Thorns damage per second to enemies you ride through.
  • Rejuvenation regenerates 15% of your maximum Life while you ride.

Stats and envious nephalem

Strength at 626 to 750 is fixed; the random stat is added damage in one of seven damage types, 981 to 1199 minimum and 1175 to 1490 maximum. The flavor text has a sense of humor: bearers of this flail ride like the wind when they call their celestial steeds - which may cause extreme envy among horseless nephalem.
