Longer protection through Ignore Pain

Pride of Cassius extends the duration of the Barbarian skill Ignore Pain by several seconds. This unassuming improvement is in truth a cornerstone of many defensive Barbarian builds, since it grants a far longer window during which you benefit from key damage-reduction and rescue effects.

Depending on the setup, the difference between a short and a long protection window decides whether you can bridge a cooldown gap or stand exposed. The mighty belt thus suits any playstyle that uses Ignore Pain as a central survival tool. Tip: Tune your cooldown reduction so the extended protection window connects as seamlessly as possible to the next cast — the goal is continuous or only minimally interrupted uptime, especially at high difficulties.

What the extra seconds mean

Unruned, Ignore Pain reduces all damage taken by 50% for 5 seconds and grants immunity to all control-impairing effects, on a 30 second cooldown. The belt extends that by 4 to 6 seconds, so at the top roll the protection lasts more than twice as long. Primal Ancient copies always bring the full 6 seconds. The Iron Hide rune raises the base duration to 7 seconds, and the belt adds its bonus on top. Only the Barbarian benefits from the power.

Other runes worth a look

  • Contempt for Weakness instantly heals you for 35% of your maximum Life on activation.
  • Ignorance is Bliss grants 5364 Life per Fury spent while active, so the longer the effect, the more Fury you can convert into Life.
  • Bravado raises your movement speed by 40% for the duration.

Fixed stats
