Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot

Chilanik forged this belt under specific instructions from Worusk himself. At the height of the Immortal King's powers, most foes fled rather than face him, and this fact vexed Worusk greatly. But Chilanik's Chain allowed Worusk to catch even the swiftest of enemies so he might show them the consequences of challenging the Immortal King or his realm.

Speed for the Whole Group

Chilanik's Chain turns your War Cry into a speed buff that benefits not just you but your allies too. For several seconds the entire party races across the map far faster. On the Barbarian, War Cry is already a staple buff, and this belt gives it clear extra value in speed builds and group speed-farming.

When clearing many small rifts or gathering, the party-wide boost is worth its weight in gold: one Barbarian keeps the buff window open and the whole team rushes from pack to pack. Refresh War Cry at short intervals so the movement speed never lapses - that turns the belt from a solo perk into the engine of the entire group.

Duration Versus Cooldown

The movement speed from the chain lasts 10 seconds. War Cry itself has a 20 second cooldown according to its skill text, so without cooldown reduction there is a gap in which the speed bonus is missing. If you want the boost up at all times, you need cooldown reduction on other pieces. The bonus itself rolls in the 30–40% range, and a Primal Ancient belt always brings the full 40%.

Which Rune Complements the Shout

The base version raises Armor for you and allies within 100 yards by 20% for 120 seconds and generates 20 Fury. The runes add their own angle:

  • Impunity: 20% more resistance to all elements.
  • Veteran's Warning: 30% Dodge Chance.
  • Hardened Wrath: an extra 60% Armor for the first 5 seconds.
  • Charge!: generates 50 Fury instead of 20.
  • Invigorate: 10% more maximum Life plus extra Life regeneration.

Cube Slot and Pairings

The power can be activated in the armor slot of Kanai's Cube, which frees the belt slot, for example for Captain Crimson's Silk Girdle. The chain is often combined with that girdle as well as Eyes, Spires, Spirit and Pull of the Earth and Squirt's Necklace. Worn directly, the mighty belt brings a fixed 416–500 Strength. The flavor text explains its origin: Chilanik forged it on Worusk's instructions because the Immortal King's foes preferred to flee, and the belt let him catch even the swiftest of them.
