No belt is too big. Except this one.

Girdle of Giants

This mighty belt is the link in a Barbarian build that ties Seismic Slam to Earthquake: every use of Seismic Slam sharply boosts your Earthquake damage for a few seconds. This gives you a clear rotation where you first drop your Earthquake and then maintain the damage bonus with Seismic Slam.

The belt is therefore mandatory for any Earthquake-centered Fury build, and with attack speed and maximum Fury it also supplies fitting secondary stats. Practical tip: keep the buff active without gaps by firing Seismic Slam regularly before it expires, otherwise your Earthquake damage drops noticeably and the whole synergy fizzles out.

Three seconds versus an eight-second quake

The bonus lasts only 3 seconds after each Seismic Slam, while an Earthquake runs for 8 seconds and deals 4800% weapon damage as Fire to enemies within 18 yards. To cover a full quake you need several Slams in a row - at 30 Fury per cast, the belt's fixed +10–12 Maximum Fury is far from a filler stat here. The Stagger rune lowers the cost to 22 Fury.

The damage bonus rolls between 200–250%; find a primal ancient girdle and the 250% is guaranteed.

Earthquake runes compared

  • Molten Fury: raises the damage to 6000% weapon damage as Fire.
  • The Mountain's Call: no Fury cost, cooldown cut from 60 to 30 seconds, Lightning damage.
  • Cave-In: pulls all enemies within 24 yards toward you, Physical damage.
  • Giant's Stride: 20 secondary tremors follow your movement for 300% each.
  • Chilling Earth: Cold damage and Freezes enemies hit.

Stats and pairings

Besides Maximum Fury, Attack Speed Increased by 5–7% and +416–500 Strength are built in. Vitality and All Resistance round out the belt. The power can also be activated in the armor slot of Kanai's Cube. It is frequently combined with the Eyes, Spires, Spirit and Pull of the Earth, Squirt's Necklace and Mortick's Brace. The flavor text pokes fun at the belt's sheer size.
