"When the unholy creature stalking Harstead was finally slain, the town's clergy commissioned the construction of this massive weapon. Adorned with a weight fashioned in the fiend’s terrible visage, the flail was meant to serve as a warning to any fell invader." —Rennold's Catalogue of Arms

Fate of the Fell

This two-handed flail takes Heaven's Fury to a new level. The skill gains two extra beams while also dealing hugely increased damage. An already strong divine bombardment becomes a sweeping rain of damage that keeps whole packs in check and hits hard on higher tiers.

The flail is exclusive to the Crusader and forms the core of a Heaven's Fury build. The extra fire damage on the weapon pairs nicely with matching fire runes for the skill. Practical tip: position the beams so their areas of effect overlap and as many beams as possible land on a tight cluster – that multiplies your area damage and makes the most of those additional beams.

The 375 to 500% roll range

Besides the two extra rays, the power increases Heaven's Fury damage by 375 to 500%. Primal Ancient copies always carry the full 500%, and the tooltip's 473% is already close to the top. The extra rays are the same on every copy, so two flails differ only in the percentage and their other stats.

Heaven's Fury and its runes

The base version has a 20 second cooldown and deals 1710% weapon damage as Holy over 6 seconds. The runes change that considerably:

  • Fires of Heaven removes the cooldown, costs 40 Wrath instead and deals 960% weapon damage as Holy - turning a rare skill into a constant attack.
  • Ascendancy grows the ray to 12 yards and raises damage to 2766%.
  • Split Fury creates 3 smaller rays of 1980% each.
  • Blessed Ground blesses the ground for 1550% weapon damage over 5 seconds.
  • Thou Shalt Not Pass makes the ground pulse for 6 seconds so enemies cannot enter it.

Cube, stats and origin

The extra rays also work from the weapon slot of Kanai's Cube. In hand, the flail carries fixed fire damage of 1177 to 1439 minimum and 1410 to 1788 maximum plus 946 to 1125 Strength. It is often combined with the Crown, Spaulders, Brigandine, Gauntlets and Chausses of Valor and Captain Crimson's Silk Girdle. According to Rennold's Catalogue of Arms, Harstead's clergy commissioned the weapon after an unholy creature was slain there; its weight bears the fiend's visage as a warning to any invader.
