This mighty weapon turns your Fury into a damage source: Cleave's damage rises the more Fury you currently hold, up to a sizable maximum bonus when the bar is full. Suddenly resource management becomes a direct damage boost.

For the Barbarian this is the foundation of a Cleave build that deliberately keeps the Fury bar topped up rather than constantly spending it. You want to generate Fury and hold it near the cap while swinging Cleave as your main attack. Practical tip: lean on skills and effects that build or preserve Fury, and avoid burning your pool needlessly – the fuller the bar at the moment of impact, the harder each Cleave swing lands.
