Effect

You deal 30% additional damage to enemies within 15 yards.

Audacity

Audacity is an offensive passive with a clear condition: it grants additional damage against all enemies within a short distance of you. The bonus is significant but applies only in close proximity, so the passive explicitly rewards an aggressive, melee-range playstyle rather than cautious kiting.

That makes Audacity a great fit for builds that already fight in the thick of it, such as Archon setups or area-damage Wizards who cluster enemies around themselves. There it provides a nearly free, permanent damage boost to whatever you are already attacking. In pure ranged or kiting builds, where you want and need to keep your distance, the bonus rarely triggers and is wasted. If your defenses let you stay close to enemies, Audacity ranks among the Wizard's strongest pure damage passives; otherwise you should pick a different one.

The 15-yard limit in practice

The 30% bonus only applies while the target is within 15 yards of you, measured from your position rather than from where the spell lands. A long-range spell hitting distant enemies gains nothing. So plan where you stand: step into the pack before you unleash your biggest damage.

Teleport is the natural companion because it closes the gap quickly. Explosive Blast gathers its energy right around you, so it only ever hits enemies close by, exactly the ones Audacity boosts. The shocks from Storm Armor also target nearby enemies and benefit from the bonus.

Pairing with other passives

Audacity is often joined by Elemental Exposure, which works at any range and covers the gap whenever a target slips out of the radius. Galvanizing Ward offsets the risk that comes with staying close: it builds a shield once you have gone a while without taking damage. Together with Magic Weapon, this forms a package that stacks damage from several independent sources.

Audacity unlocks at level 66, just before the endgame.
