Blood Vengeance

Passive Skill · Demon Hunter

Effect

Your maximum Hatred is increased by 25. In addition, gain 30 Hatred and 3 Discipline when you are healed by a health globe.

Blood Vengeance

Blood Vengeance is a resource passive that helps the Demon Hunter in two ways: it raises your maximum Hatred and makes collected Health Globes additionally restore Hatred and Discipline. Since Discipline otherwise comes back only slowly, this aspect in particular is valuable, because it lets you use defensive and mobility skills more often without constantly waiting on resources.

The passive is attractive above all in builds that consume a lot of Discipline, such as through Shadow Power, Caltrops, or other discipline-hungry tools. Even in frantic combat against large packs, where Health Globes drop constantly, it provides a pleasant resource flow. In pure Hatred builds with no meaningful Discipline use, the benefit is smaller, since then mainly the raised maximum matters.

What each health globe gives you

Specifically, Blood Vengeance raises your maximum Hatred by 25, and every health globe grants 30 Hatred and 3 Discipline. A globe is no longer just an emergency ration but a resource package, so the passive's value depends directly on how many globes drop in a fight and how consistently you pick them up.

The larger maximum acts as a buffer: you can spend Hatred longer without interruption before you have to fall back on your generators.

The Discipline chain

The most common partners are the skills that spend or return Discipline:

  • Smoke Screen and Shadow Power cost Discipline and benefit directly from every refill.
  • Preparation restores Discipline on demand, and Blood Vengeance bridges the time until its next use.
  • Tactical Advantage grants movement speed whenever you use Smoke Screen or Shadow Power, so more Discipline also means more speed.

Where it fits

With Vengeance as the big damage window and Ambush for extra damage, Blood Vengeance takes the resource slot among the passives in such setups. It is available from level 13, so it is useful early in the game as well.
