The configuration
This setup is stored as a complete build — gear, skills, runes and all four cube slots work together and are not assembled from individual statistics.
- Set: The Shadow’s Mantle
- Rating: tier C across all classes
- Kanai's Cube: Dawn, Stone Gauntlets, Ring of Royal Grandeur
- Skills: Marked for Death (Grim Reaper), Impale (Impact), Shadow Power, Companion (Bat Companion), Vault (Trail of Cinders), Vengeance (Dark Heart)
- Passives: Awareness, Cull the Weak, Ambush, Numbing Traps
- Variants available: Speed farming, Torment 16 / Nephalem rifts, GR push
What the set does
This build wears The Shadow’s Mantle. These bonuses apply once the matching number of set pieces is equipped — the damage multiplier hangs on them, not on the individual stats of the pieces:
- 2 pieces: While equipped with a melee weapon, the damage of your Bolas, Chakram, Fan of Knives, and Impale is increased by 6000%.
- 4 pieces: Shadow Power gains the effect of every rune and lasts forever.
- 6 pieces: Impale deals an additional 75,000% weapon damage to the first enemy hit, and 25,000% to subsequent enemies.
How the variants differ
Measured against the push version. Anything not listed here stays the same:
- Speed farming: swaps in skills Bolas (Thunder Ball), Preparation (Battle Scars), Smoke Screen (Vanishing Powder); cube St. Archew's Gage, Echoing Fury; gems Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard, Zei's Stone of Vengeance.
- Torment 16 / Nephalem rifts: swaps in skills Companion (Ferret Companion), Preparation (Battle Scars), Smoke Screen (Vanishing Powder), Vengeance (From the Shadows); cube Pride's Fall, Squirt's Necklace, Echoing Fury; gems Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard, Boon of the Hoarder.
Sockets and gems
The 3 legendary gems (Gogok of Swiftness, Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Stricken) belong in the jewellery slots — that is the only place their rank counts, and the only place they keep growing when you upgrade after a Greater Rift.
The remaining 7 sockets are filled with Diamond: the multiplier already comes from the set and the legendary powers, so one more base stat does more there than another effect would.
On the season theme
Shades of the Nephalem spawns a shadow clone of your class at every shrine and pylon that fights along for one minute. Activate shrines inside the pull, not on the way there. The fourth cube slot is already filled in every variant above.
