This hammer rumbles with the sound of distant thunder.

A roll of thunder with every hit

Odyn Son is the pick for anyone built around Lightning: the mace not only boosts the damage of your Lightning skills, it also has a solid chance to unleash a Chain Lightning on hit that jumps from enemy to enemy. Every attack becomes a small electric chain reaction, delivering a welcome wave of extra damage, especially in groups.

Because the weapon brings both a passive damage multiplier and an active on-hit effect, it fits anywhere Lightning damage takes center stage. The higher your hit frequency, the more often the Chain Lightning fires. Tip: Pair the mace with fast, multi-hitting attacks and fight clustered packs, so the Chain Lightning travels as far as possible and multiplies your area damage.

A wide roll range

The Chain Lightning chance rolls between 20 and 40% - an unusually wide range. A copy at 34% sits well above the midpoint, and a Primal Ancient reaches the full 40%. The best roll has twice the trigger chance of the worst, so this is the most important value when you compare two maces.

The fixed Lightning stats

Besides the power, every copy carries two fixed properties, both aimed at Lightning: +981–1,199 to 1,175–1,490 Lightning Damage as weapon damage and 15–20% more damage for Lightning skills. The second one only works if your skills actually deal Lightning damage - with Fire or Cold runes, you waste it. So plan the weapon specifically for a Lightning setup.

One-handed, no class restriction

Odyn Son is a one-handed mace with no class restriction and fits the main hand or, for classes that dual-wield, the off-hand. A follower can wield it as well.

The flavor text calls the weapon a hammer that rumbles with the sound of distant thunder - name and thunder alike recall the famous son of a father of gods from Norse legend.
