Myken, famed sorcerer of the island nation of Uie, was known for his vitriolic demeanor. One day, at the height of a fevered tirade, the magical embodiment of his wrath burst from his body, granting the spellcaster a serenity that he'd missed for years. Many have since sought the orb, hoping to master its terrible destructive force.

Electrocute that bounces back

Myken's Ball of Hate removes a core limitation of Electrocute: the bolt may now jump again to enemies it has already struck. For the Wizard that means the beam can ricochet back and forth among a handful of foes instead of quickly fizzling out. In tight spaces, against single elites, or among small packs, the number of hits per second multiplies dramatically.

This turns the orb into the centerpiece of a specialized Electrocute build that thrives on hit count and rapid attack frequency. The more jumps you generate, the more you benefit from hit-based effects and critical strikes. Tip: Fight deliberately from mid-range and keep targets clustered together, so the bolt arcs between them as long as possible and unleashes its full damage.

Electrocute in its base form

Electrocute is a Signature spell and therefore free to cast. Its lightning deals 69% weapon damage as Lightning and can jump to up to 2 enemies. Without the orb, the chain ends once no new target is in range - with it, the chain may return to enemies it already hit. The power has no roll range.

Runes for the bouncing chain

  • Chain Lightning raises the maximum number of enemies Electrocute can hit to 10 - the natural partner rune, since it lengthens the chain.
  • Forked Lightning: Critical Hits release 4 charged bolts for 44% weapon damage as Fire. The source's fixed Critical Hit Chance feeds straight into this.
  • Surge of Power: 1 Arcane Power per enemy hit.
  • Lightning Blast (piercing streaks, 140%) and Arc Lightning (a cone, 155%) change the spell's shape entirely.

Every property is predetermined: +626–750 Intelligence, Critical Hit Chance Increased by 8–10% and a small damage bonus of +(6–8)–(7–10).
