Simplicity's Strength

Simplicity's Strength

This legendary gem pursues a simple but effective idea: it increases the damage of your primary skills by a fixed percentage. Since primary skills cost no resource and already serve as filler or main attack in many builds, this is a direct, cross-class damage bonus for exactly those skills.

Simplicity's Strength shines in builds that make a generator or primary skill their central damage skill, and it's useful regardless of class. My tip: slot the gem into a ring or your amulet when your build is genuinely built around a primary skill, and pair it with gear that boosts the same skill, so the bonuses compound and your primary skill becomes a true source of damage.

Which skills count

This refers to skills in the Primary category - for most classes, the generators that refill your resource. For the Necromancer that includes Bone Spikes and Siphon Blood, for the Crusader Smite and Justice, for the Witch Doctor Plague of Toads, and for the Wizard the Signature spells such as Magic Missile. The bonus is 25.00% and applies to every one of these skills you use, not just a single one.

When the gem really pays off

The gem is strong when a meaningful share of your damage actually comes from a primary skill. If you only use your generator to build resources for a big spender, the 25.00% does little, because the generator barely contributes to your total damage. Conversely, if an item directly empowers your primary skill - such as Rhen'ho Flayer for the toads - the gem adds to that setup with no further conditions.

The power of repetition

The flavor text quotes Matriarch Lian Rasmussen: a simple task performed a thousand times may seem a drudgery, yet the power it creates is immeasurable - a fitting description for a gem that makes the plainest attacks stronger.
