Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot
The Quinblades are the only surviving weapons forged by master swordsmith Morad Peerse, each a unique expression of his craft. Made during Peerse's Low Period, which followed the loss of his family, Rimeheart, with the blistering chill it radiates and its cold-forged iron blade, reflects both the hardening of its creator in the wake of tragedy and his consummate skill.
An execution for frozen enemies
Rimeheart rewards freezing enemies with a brutal burst: on hit, there is a chance to instantly deal enormous weapon damage as cold to frozen enemies. The sword turns crowd control directly into damage output and suits any build that can reliably freeze.
The effect is class-independent but shines especially in cold setups with plenty of frost abilities. Tip: Maintain a constant source of freeze, for instance through cold spells or a fitting gem, and attack frozen enemies with high attack speed so you roll the proc chance as often as possible and trigger the heavy cold explosion regularly.
The numbers behind the burst
The power has a 20% chance per hit and then deals 10,000% weapon damage as Cold - both fixed, with no roll range. The condition is what matters: the target must be Frozen. Per the power text, an enemy that is merely Chilled or Slowed doesn't qualify. Since the burst is expressed as weapon damage, your weapon's damage determines how hard it lands.
The sword's stats
+(981–1,199)–(1,175–1,490) Cold Damage is fixed and makes up most of the weapon damage; base damage is 168-392 at 1.40 attacks per second. If you wield Rimeheart yourself, a high roll on that value pays off directly, because it also feeds the 10,000% hit. A random primary attribute at 626–750 joins it - Strength, Dexterity or Intelligence depending on your class. Your follower can carry the sword as well.
The Quinblades
According to the flavor text, Rimeheart is one of the Quinblades, the only surviving weapons of master swordsmith Morad Peerse. Forged during the low period after he lost his family, its cold-forged iron blade radiates a blistering chill and reflects both its maker's hardening after tragedy and his consummate skill.
