Legend has it that on hot days, Lord Greenstone enjoyed cooling himself with the wind of hurled knives.

Charging Fan of Knives

This dagger charges your next Fan of Knives higher with every passing second, building its damage stack by stack up to a high maximum. Wait long enough and the stored damage erupts in a single, devastating throw – a classic charge-and-release rhythm.

For the Demon Hunter this creates a deliberately paced playstyle that rewards patience with massive burst. Instead of spamming Fan of Knives, you hold the skill back and unload it at the perfect moment. Tip: Build your stacks while keeping trash busy with other skills, then release the fully charged Fan of Knives only on an elite or boss – that way you waste no stacks on weak targets and maximize your peak damage.

The fan's timetable

One stack is added per second, up to 30. So it takes 30 seconds to fully charge the fan - that is the rhythm around which you plan your big throw. Each stack adds 300–400% damage; a copy at 328% sits in the lower third, and a Primal Ancient delivers the full 400%. Because the value multiplies across up to 30 stacks, a high roll is especially valuable here.

Cube or hand

Kanai's Cube accepts the power in its weapon slot. That way you use the charge-up without wielding the dagger yourself and keep your hands free for other weapons. If you do wield it, it carries a fixed Cold Damage of +858–1,049 to 1,028–1,304 and rolls a main stat at 626 to 750 points - Dexterity is what counts for a Demon Hunter.

A cooling fan

The flavor text explains the name: legend has it that on hot days, Lord Greenstone enjoyed cooling himself with the wind of his hurled knives. The fixed Cold damage on the dagger fits this anecdote, and the image of a fan of knives stirring up wind is exactly what the power turns into damage.
