Pool of the item type from the game files, version 2.8.0. Skill damage bonuses only carry weight for their class. All properties of this slot
Every tribe tells tales of their greatest weapons, capable of moving mountains or terrifying enemies, each one different. But every tribe claims this blade as their own.
Shouts That Make the Earth Tremble
The Blade of the Tribes turns your Barbarian shouts into hard-hitting damage sources: War Cry and Threatening Shout automatically trigger Avalanche and Earthquake, whose damage is hugely increased at the same time. This converts skills you cast anyway for buffs and protection into a powerful area attack without sacrificing additional skill slots.
The weapon forms the foundation of Earthquake Barbarians and other builds that rely on ground-based area damage. Tip: Stand in the middle of the enemy pack and release your shouts there so Avalanche and Earthquake catch as many foes as possible at once. Keep the shouts ready in your rotation, because only frequent triggering keeps the ground perpetually filled with devastating tremors and your damage output consistently high.
How often the blade triggers
The rhythm depends on your shout cooldowns: Threatening Shout is ready again after 10 seconds, War Cry after 20. With both on your bar you trigger Avalanche and Earthquake regularly without casting those skills yourself, which means shorter shout cooldowns also mean more frequent tremors. The damage bonus rolls between 600 and 800% and applies equally to both effects.
Shout runes
Since the shouts become your damage triggers here, their runes deserve a look. Falter makes enemies take 25% increased damage for 6 seconds after Threatening Shout, while Intimidate slows them by 60% instead. On War Cry, Charge! raises the Fury generated to 50, whereas Impunity or Invigorate strengthen your defenses.
Stats and companions
As a two-handed weapon the blade fills both hands; alternatively, put the power into the weapon slot of Kanai's Cube. It carries a fixed 946–1,125 Strength and rolls an elemental damage bonus, with Fire being the natural choice since unruned Earthquake deals Fire damage. A socket, Damage % and Area Damage round it out. It is often combined with Eyes of the Earth, Spires of the Earth, Spirit of the Earth, Pull of the Earth and Mortick's Brace.
According to the flavor text, every tribe claims this blade as its own.
