Effect

Enemies that take Arcane damage are slowed by 80% for 2 seconds.

Temporal Flux

Temporal Flux is a passive that slows enemies the moment they take your Arcane damage. Since the effect triggers automatically on every Arcane hit, the passive suits builds that already lean heavily on Arcane spells. Slowed enemies stay in your range longer and have fewer chances to dodge away or close in dangerously.

A passive slot is worth spending mainly when you deal Arcane damage constantly and crowd control is a priority, for example to keep packs grouped up or stop ranged enemies from kiting. In highly optimized builds that already cover their defense or damage through other passives, however, Temporal Flux is often expendable. It shines most in Arcane-focused setups where reliable slowing adds real value.

Which spells deal Arcane damage

Many Wizard skills deal Arcane damage by default: Arcane Orb, Arcane Torrent, Black Hole, Disintegrate, Energy Twister, Explosive Blast, Magic Missile, Spectral Blade, Wave of Force and the Familiar as well. Some runes convert damage to Arcane, such as Power Affinity on Shock Pulse. Conversely, a spell loses the effect when its rune turns the damage into another element, like Convergence turning Disintegrate into Fire.

Temporal Flux unlocks at level 45.

Permanent slowing

The 80% slow lasts only 2 seconds, but every new Arcane hit applies it again. Channeled spells like Disintegrate or Arcane Torrent hit continuously and thus keep their targets slowed practically all the time. The Familiar also attacks on its own and spreads the effect on the side.

Working with other passives

Power Hungry rewards keeping your distance from enemies, and Temporal Flux makes them close that distance more slowly. Elemental Exposure counts Arcane as one of its four damage types, so an Arcane spell gives you both the slow and a vulnerability stack at once. For wizards who seek safety through distance rather than damage reduction, this combination is a sensible foundation.
