Midnight Feast

Midnight Feast

Passive Skill · Witch Doctor

  • From level 68

Effect

The damage of your Zombie Dogs and Gargantuan is increased by 50%.

Additionally, you may have 1 additional Zombie Dog summoned at one time.

Midnight Feast

Midnight Feast is a passive that significantly raises the damage of your zombie dogs and gargantuan, and on top of that lets you keep one extra zombie dog summoned at once. That makes it a direct and hard-hitting upgrade for any build leaning on these two companions.

The slot is all but mandatory in dog- and gargantuan-oriented pet builds, because the damage bonus directly amplifies your main source and the extra dog increases your number of attackers. Combined with sets and items that put your minions front and centre, this passive multiplies your total output considerably. In builds without zombie dogs or a gargantuan it does nothing, and the slot is better used elsewhere.

Both parts in detail

The 50% damage bonus applies only to Zombie Dogs and the Gargantuan; other pets such as fetishes do not benefit. The second part allows 1 additional Zombie Dog at a time; with Summon Zombie Dogs calling 3 dogs, your pack grows by one more attacker.

Midnight Feast only unlocks at level 68, so you have to make do without this boost while leveling.

Gargantuan and dogs in Helltooth Harness

Helltooth Harness names both Gargantuan and Zombie Dogs in its 2-piece bonus: both apply Necrosis with their hits. With Midnight Feast, one more dog fights, and both dogs and Gargantuan deal more damage. Wall of Death belongs on the bar in this context because the 6-piece bonus sharply raises both companions' damage after you cast it.

Partners

Gargantuan appears directly in the partner list; without it or the dogs, the passive is empty. Piranhas makes enemies in the pool take extra damage, and Soul Harvest and Spirit Walk cover Intelligence and escape.

Pierce the Veil often sits alongside. According to their descriptions, the Gargantuan and Zombie Dogs cost no Mana and only have a cooldown, so the surcharge on Mana costs does not affect them while you still take the damage bonus.
