Effect

Dealing damage to enemies above 75% Life increases your attack speed by 30% for 4 seconds.

Seize the Initiative

This passive rewards you for opening fights aggressively. The moment you strike an enemy that is still close to full health, your attack speed spikes upward for a short window. Because the effect is tied to fresh targets, it shines most in dense packs and while charging into new groups, where you constantly face untouched health bars.

The practical payoff is a DPS boost from triggering your attacks faster: more hits per second mean more critical strikes, more spirit generation and smoother gameplay overall. The passive pairs especially well with builders and effects that thrive on hit frequency. In pure boss fights it loses value, since a single target only refreshes the bonus while it is above 75% Life. As a cheap all-round passive slot for mobile, trash-heavy builds, however, it remains a solid pick.

Keeping the bonus up

The effect grants 30% attack speed for 4 seconds, so the key is to catch an untouched target every few seconds. Skills that bring you to new enemies, or bring new enemies to you, do exactly that:

  • Dashing Strike carries you over long distances and hits everything along the way, often the fresh enemies of a new pack.
  • Epiphany makes your melee attacks dash straight to the target and supplies extra Spirit.
  • Cyclone Strike pulls in enemies from the surroundings; the newly gathered targets usually still have full Life and refresh the bonus.

Why attack speed counts twice here

Sweeping Wind is refreshed on every melee hit, and critical hits can raise it to up to 3 stacks. More attack speed therefore means not only more direct damage but a steadier vortex as well.

Passives that sit well beside it

Beacon of Ytar lowers all cooldowns and complements this passive because it has no target condition at all. The Guardian's Path grants dodge chance or extra Spirit depending on your weapon. Since the passive unlocks at level 20, you can try it early while leveling.
