Effect
Spirit fuels your defensive and offensive abilities.
Exalted Soul
Exalted Soul is a plain but extremely useful resource passive: it raises your maximum spirit and speeds up regeneration at the same time. Since spirit on the monk powers both offensive spenders and defensive mantras, this larger pool acts as a buffer that gives you more room to act in hectic moments.
The slot is worth it above all in builds that fire expensive skills often and keep bumping against the limits of their spirit pool, for instance when you need Cyclone Strike, Lashing Tail Kick, or a mantra in quick succession. The raised cap lets you chain more actions before you have to top up again, and the extra regeneration smooths out the gaps. In resource-starved setups this passive is therefore one of the most reliable answers to an empty spirit bar.
What 50 extra Spirit means
Exalted Soul raises maximum Spirit by 50, exactly the cost of one Cyclone Strike, so you can bank one more such spender before the bar runs dry. The extra 4 Spirit per second flows whether or not you are attacking, so the bar keeps filling while you run or dodge.
A bigger pool while leveling
The passive unlocks as early as level 13. During leveling in particular, when Spirit is scarce and expensive skills drain the bar quickly, the larger pool helps right away.
How Exalted Soul works with generators and Epiphany
Generators such as Way of the Hundred Fists, Fists of Thunder, Crippling Wave or Deadly Reach fill the bar in combat, and the passive's regeneration comes on top. Epiphany adds Spirit every second as well, and a higher cap means less of it goes to waste because the bar fills up later. Dashing Strike costs charges instead of Spirit and leaves your pool untouched.
