Chakram
Chakram is a Hatred spender in which you hurl a spinning disc that damages every enemy in its flight path. The different flight patterns of the runes make the skill a versatile spender that adapts to various situations, whether for focused line damage or broader battlefield coverage.
Shuriken Cloud is especially handy: it surrounds you for a very long time with whirling chakrams that continuously damage nearby enemies, which pairs excellently with a melee-adjacent, mobile playstyle and runs along on the side. If you instead want reliable damage along a path, Boomerang delivers a returning disc that hits enemies twice, raising output per throw. So Chakram covers very different roles depending on the rune.
Runes by unlock level
- Twin Chakrams (from level 18): two mirrored chakrams at 220% weapon damage as Fire each.
- Serpentine (level 26): a slow curve dealing 500% weapon damage as Cold.
- Razor Disk (level 34): spirals out from the target location for 380% weapon damage as Physical.
- Boomerang (level 48): the disc loops back, 400% weapon damage as Lightning.
- Shuriken Cloud (level 57): a cloud around you dealing 200% weapon damage per second to nearby enemies for 10 minutes.
Chakram is available from level 12. Since almost every rune uses a different element, you can match the damage type to your gear.
Hatred as a resource and as a damage value
Two items fundamentally change how you handle Hatred. With Spines of Seething Hatred, Chakram generates 3–4 Hatred. Sword of Ill Will raises Chakram's damage by 1–1.4% for every point of Hatred you currently hold. With the sword, a full Hatred bar is what counts: the less you spend, the stronger each throw becomes.
The Shadow's Mantle and Embodiment of the Marauder
The Shadow's Mantle raises Chakram's damage by 6000% with two pieces, but only while you wield a melee weapon. Sword of Ill Will is such a weapon and meets the condition. In Embodiment of the Marauder, your Sentries throw Chakram alongside you from four pieces onward, and six pieces add 9500% increased damage per active Sentry.
