Patterns of Justice

Patterns of Justice is a Monk set that interlocks Sweeping Wind with Tempest Rush. The first bonus grants your vortex the effect of every rune at once and increases your speed per stack. The middle bonus makes Tempest Rush hits defensively valuable by lowering the damage you take and boosting your Spirit regeneration. The top-tier bonus then rewards the interplay with a massive general damage bonus.

The result is a dynamic build in which you permanently stay inside your vortex and deliberately weave in Tempest Rush to group up enemies, protect yourself and unleash your damage. The set plays nimbly and rewards clean timing of both skills. Practical tip: Keep Sweeping Wind active at all times and use Tempest Rush regularly in the middle of dense groups, because only when both skills work together does the big damage bonus trigger reliably and permanently.

What "every rune" means for the vortex

At two pieces, Sweeping Wind carries all five rune effects at once: Blade Storm raises the damage per stack to 145%, Fire Storm widens the radius to 14 yards, Cyclone lets critical hits spawn lightning tornadoes at 3 or more stacks, Inner Storm grants 8 Spirit per second at 3 or more stacks, and Master of Wind, also at 3 or more stacks, freezes enemies the vortex has damaged for at least 3 seconds in a row. On top of that you gain 5% movement speed per stack.

Tempest Rush as the engine

Tempest Rush costs 30 Spirit. While you attack with it, the 4-piece bonus reduces your damage taken by 50% and raises your Spirit Regeneration by 50 – together with Inner Storm, that is a strong supply for the running cost. At six pieces, Tempest Rush hits also enlarge the vortex and increase all damage dealt by 20,000%, but only while Sweeping Wind is active.

Tempest Rush's own rune is up to you: Northern Breeze lowers the cost to 25 and turns the damage Holy, Electric Field hits enemies within 20 yards with extra Lightning damage every second, Tailwind adds 25% movement speed, and Bluster reduces the damage of enemies hit by 20%.

Cube powers

The set is often combined with Balance, the Ring of Royal Grandeur and Mantle of Channeling.
