One could withstand the fires of Hell itself wearing armor such as this.

More Fire, Lower Cost

Cindercoat is a two-in-one for any fire build: it boosts the damage of your fire skills while also noticeably cutting their resource cost. You burn harder and can sustain your fire spells longer without running dry on mana, fury or hatred. That combination makes the chest a classic for resource-hungry fire rotations.

Thanks to being class-neutral, the coat fits any fire-heavy build - from the fire Witch Doctor to the meteor Wizard. Builds that pour out damage through one expensive core skill benefit most from the cost reduction, since they stay in their damage window longer. Build your gear so the coat supports your fire focus; against builds with no fire damage it adds nothing.

The Two Numbers on Cindercoat

The cost reduction is the legendary power and rolls in the 23–30% range. The damage bonus for Fire skills is a separate fixed property at 15–20%. Both values vary between copies, and both decide how good your coat is. A Primal Ancient copy combines 30% cost reduction with 20% more Fire damage. Since those two numbers are the heart of the chest piece, point any Mystic reroll at a different property instead.

Filling the Other Slots

The random main stat rolls as Dexterity, Intelligence or Strength at 416–500. A socket, all resistance and damage reduction from elites are sensible rolls for a chest piece, and a healing bonus is an option as well. That way the coat makes up for the fact that its own strengths are purely offensive and resource related.

Pairings and Background

Cindercoat is frequently combined with the leg piece of Blackthorne's Jousting Mail, Squirt's Necklace, Convention of Elements, The Witching Hour, Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac and Pauldrons of the Skeleton King. The flavor text picks up the fire theme: armor like this, it claims, could let you withstand the fires of Hell itself.
