Berserker Rage

Berserker Rage

Passive Skill · Barbarian

  • From level 20

Effect

You deal 25% additional damage while near maximum Fury.

Berserker Rage

Berserker Rage rewards a full Fury bar: while you sit near maximum, you deal noticeably more damage. The passive therefore suits builds that generate Fury but don't constantly empty it, instead keeping the pool topped up.

The drawback is obvious: as soon as you spend heavily on expensive attacks, the bonus drops off. That's why Berserker Rage pairs best with a playstyle that refills Fury continuously and parks the bar near its cap. For heavily Fury-spending builds that drain the pool often, it tends to be the weaker pick. So check how your Fury economy actually behaves before slotting it.

What "near maximum Fury" means in practice

The description gives no exact threshold, only "near maximum Fury". Plan for an almost full bar: the 25% additional damage only applies while hardly any Fury is missing. Expensive attacks that spend a lot at once knock you out of the bonus immediately, whereas cheap or infrequent spending sits well with the passive. Since Berserker Rage is available from level 20, you can test the interplay while leveling.

How partners keep the bar full

Furious Charge generates Fury on every use and tops the bar back up, and with the Stamina rune it adds more for each enemy hit. Battle Rage does cost Fury, but it lasts a long time, so you cast it rarely and barely dent the pool. Wrath of the Berserker runs on a cooldown instead of a Fury cost and does not touch the bar at all.

Conditions that complement each other

Berserker Rage depends on your resource, while other damage passives depend on entirely different conditions: Ruthless on low enemy health, Brawler on several enemies close to you, Rampage on kills that stack Strength. Because these requirements do not exclude one another, the bonuses often run at the same time in pack fights.
