Vyr's Amazing Arcana

This Wizard set transforms Archon from a time-limited transformation into your permanent combat form. Archon gains every rune effect, and each hit with an Archon skill grants you a stack. These stacks are the centerpiece: they raise your attack speed, armor, and resistances, push your damage bonus ever higher, and additionally lower the damage you take. So the longer you stay in Archon form actively hitting enemies, the more dangerous and at the same time more durable you become.

The playstyle is a snowball: switch into Archon as fast as possible, then hit nonstop to build stacks before the form expires. Keep the fight going and avoid idle phases where no stacks accrue. Vyr classically combines with a complementary set that bridges the transition between Archon phases, keeping damage high in between as well.

What an Archon stack is worth

Without the set, every enemy killed in Archon form adds 6% damage for the remaining duration. The 6-piece bonus changes two things: stacks now come from hitting with Archon abilities rather than only from kills, and each stack is worth a 100% damage bonus instead of 6%. Every stack also reduces your damage taken by 0.15%, and at four pieces it additionally raises attack speed, armor and resistances by 1% each. Many hits on many enemies therefore pay off twice.

Archon with every rune

The base form lasts 20 seconds, raises your damage by 30% and your armor and resistances by 150%, and has a 120-second cooldown. At two pieces you get every rune on top: Improved Archon increases Archon ability damage by 50%, Pure Power lowers the cooldown to 100 seconds, and Combustion triggers a 3680% weapon damage explosion within 15 yards when you transform. You can also cast Teleport in Archon form on a 2-second cooldown, plus Slow Time, whose bubble moves with you.
