This unusual two-ring set rewards you not for equipped skills but for ancient gear. As long as this is your only active set bonus, each equipped ancient item meaningfully boosts your damage while also lowering the damage you take. That makes it a class-agnostic tool for builds that wear no other set anyway and instead lean on a collection of strong individual legendaries.

The trick is the condition: you may not have any other set bonus active, or the effect drops entirely. In practice the set therefore shines above all in so-called legendary-power builds that rely on individual item effects rather than a set bonus. Invest time in upgrading as many of your gear pieces as possible into their ancient versions — the more ancient items you wear, the greater the dual payoff of damage and protection.

The values per ancient item

Every equipped Ancient item increases your damage dealt by 750% and reduces your damage taken by 4%. Both values grow piece by piece – a single additional Ancient item improves offense and defense at once. Ancient items can drop from level 70, which makes the bonus a project that improves with every new find.

Reading the condition closely

"Only Item Set bonus" is meant literally: even the smallest bonus from another set – say, a 2-piece bonus from weapons or jewelry – switches the effect off. Individual set pieces without an active bonus do not interfere, because what matters is the bonus, not the item.

Two rings

The set consists of the rings Litany of the Undaunted and The Wailing Host, taking up both ring slots. The Mystic can re-enchant one property on each ring. If you own a duplicate of either ring, Kanai's Cube converts it into another piece of the same set – with two pieces, that means the missing ring.
