Fist of the Heavens

Aegis of Valor empowers the Crusader's Fist of the Heavens and rewards stacking the buff by hitting with Fist of the Heavens, which empowers Heaven's Fury. The 6-piece bonus increases the damage of Fist of the Heavens and Heaven's Fury by 15,000%.

How to play: Sustain the stack buff through continuous strikes and unload Fist of the Heavens on the pack. A strong, somewhat APM-intensive push build.

Two different kinds of stacks

The set runs on two separate counters, both fed by Fist of the Heavens. The 2-piece bonus means every Fist of the Heavens attack empowers Heaven's Fury with 125% increased damage for 5 seconds, stacking up to 3 times. Because those stacks fade quickly, you have to weave in Fist of the Heavens regularly before casting Heaven's Fury.

The 4-piece bonus counts hits instead: each Fist of the Heavens hit returns 5 Wrath and reduces damage taken by 1% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 50 times. A single Fist costs 30 Wrath; since its explosion and bolts often catch several enemies, dense packs send correspondingly more Wrath back to you.

Runes for both skills

On Fist of the Heavens the rune decides damage type and shape: Fissure creates lightning fissures that arc between each other, Retribution hurls a piercing fist of Holy damage, and Divine Well makes the bolts zap enemies within 18 yards. Reverberation knocks enemies away and slows them by 80%.

On Heaven's Fury, Fires of Heaven changes the skill the most: the cooldown is removed, but each beam costs 40 Wrath – exactly where the Wrath refund from the 4-piece bonus pays off. Split Fury divides the ray into 3 smaller beams, Ascendancy widens it to 12 yards.

Frequent cube companions

With the Ring of Royal Grandeur in the cube, five of the six armor pieces are enough for the full bonus. Aegis of Valor is also commonly combined with Echoing Fury, Darklight, Fate of the Fell and Khassett's Cord of Righteousness.
