Leap

Leap is a versatile mobility skill: you vault across a stretch of terrain, deal area damage on landing, and slow the enemies you hit. That lets you cover distance, reposition, and chip in some damage all at once.

If you want to use the jump defensively, Iron Impact grants extra armor after landing, which helps when you dive into a crowd. If you're after control, Death from Above delivers a guaranteed stun to the enemies hit and turns the jump into a reliable opener. So Leap can serve as an escape route, a defensive engagement tool, or a controlling entry into a fight, depending on need.

Base values and every rune

Each Leap generates 15 Fury, has a 10 second cooldown and hits everything within 10 yards of the landing point for 180% weapon damage; enemies hit are slowed by 60% for 3 seconds.

  • Iron Impact (level 14): 150% additional Armor for 4 seconds.
  • Launch (level 21): enemies at the takeoff point also take damage and get slowed.
  • Toppling Impact (level 32): 450% damage and knockback.
  • Call of Arreat (level 44): 16 yard radius, enemies are pulled toward you, the most common pick in practice.
  • Death from Above (level 60): a 3 second stun.

Might of the Earth

The Might of the Earth set turns Leap into the core of the setup. With 2 pieces its cooldown drops by 1 second for every 30 Fury you spend. 4 pieces make every landing cause an Earthquake and give Leap the effect of Iron Impact on top, with that effect and its duration increased by 150%. That leaves the rune slot free for Call of Arreat, which pulls enemies straight into the Earthquake. The 6-piece bonus raises the damage of Leap, Earthquake, Avalanche, Ground Stomp, Ancient Spear and Seismic Slam by 37,500%.

Other items

The boots Lut Socks allow up to 3 Leaps within 2 seconds before the cooldown begins. The ring Band of Might reduces your damage taken by 60–80% for 8 seconds after each Leap.

Leap with Seismic Slam

Seismic Slam spends the Fury that drives the cooldown reduction, and Boon of Bul-Kathos shortens Earthquake further. Wrath of the Berserker, Rampage and Ruthless add damage.
