Endless Whirlwind

Wrath of the Wastes is the Whirlwind set for the Barbarian. Its 6-piece bonus hugely boosts Whirlwind and Rend damage. In practice you whirl through packs non-stop and refresh the bleed with short Rend casts.

How to play: Pair it with Bul-Kathos's Oath (mighty weapons) and the Band of Might for damage reduction. Keep your Fury high for Aquila Cuirass and stay mobile. Great for relaxed, mobile Greater Rift pushing.

Rend becomes a lasting bleed

Normally Rend makes every enemy within 12 yards bleed for 5 seconds and costs 20 Fury. The 2-piece bonus extends the bleed to 15 seconds and raises its damage per second by 500%, so you need to reapply it far less often. At four pieces, Rends you apply during Whirlwind and for 3 seconds after deal triple damage. In that same window you also take 50% less damage.

Among the runes, Ravage widens the area to 18 yards, Mutilate makes enemies take 10% more damage from all sources, Blood Lust heals you for every enemy hit, and Bloodbath spreads the bleed to all enemies within 10 yards when a bleeding enemy dies.

Dust Devils included

The 6-piece bonus gives Whirlwind the effect of the Dust Devils rune and increases all Whirlwind and Rend damage by 10,000%. That leaves your own Whirlwind rune free: Hurricane pulls in enemies from up to 35 yards, and Wind Shear returns 1 Fury per enemy hit – a noticeable relief when Whirlwind costs 10 Fury. Blood Funnel restores 1% Life on critical hits.

Besides Band of Might, the set is often combined with The Furnace, Mantle of Channeling and Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac.
